A Vienna silver drinking vessel in the form of a ship

Designed as a model ship with sails and rigging on four moving wheels. Tiny figures of sailors with guns and mortars populate the decks. The outer surface decorated with depictions of nereids and tritons in polychrome enamel, the inside of the ship with grotesques and flowerheads on cream ground. H 21.5 cm, weight 491 g.
Indistinct maker's mark of Ludwig Politzer, around 1880.

An identical ship with Pollinger's mark was sold by Christie's, London on 29th May 2012 as lot 303.
