A pair of Frankfurt Rococo Revival silver candlesticks

Round scalloped bases supporting baluster-form shafts richly decorated wtih rocailles and scrolls. Each with four-flame candelabra attachments with corresponding decor. One monogrammed "F.J.L" beneath a ducal crown on the underside, the other "G.L. & F." with inventory no. H of candlesticks 28; of candelabra 36 cm, total weight 2,634 g.
Marks of Johann Martin Schott, 1811 - 1822.

Literature

These pieces are based on a pair of Rococo candlesticks created by Emanuel Abraham Drentwett 1757 - 1759 for the Prince of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (cf. Lempertz auction 1220, lot 553).
