A Turin silver tazza

Round, flat tray with a lobed base, engraved in the centre with the later arms of alliance of the Muheim and Epp families from Altdorf in Switzerland. H 9.2; diamter 26 cm, weight 864 g.
Unidentified maker's mark, around 1730.

Alexander Muheim (1809 - 1867) was landammann (chief magistrate) of the Swiss canton of Uri from 1850 to 1856 and then again from 1859 to 1866. In 1832 he married Crescentia Epp, the daughter of Dominik Epp, landammann from Altdorf in Switzerland.
