A Greek 18th century Blessing Cross from Mount Athos

Carved fruitwood with silver leaf and gemstone inlays. A wooden cross with twelve finely rendered micro carvings depicting scenes from the Life of Christ on front and back. In the original fitted case.
Wear throughout. The base presumably a 19th century addition. Height 20.5 cm.
