A cast iron relief portrait of Emperor Franz I of Prussia in his study

Black patinated cast iron, filled with softwood on the reverse. In a separately cast palmette frame. Engraved "Horzowitz" lower left. H with frame 13.3, W 16.5 cm.
Bohemian Iron Foundry Horzowitz-Komarau (now Komarov / Czech Republic), around 1830.

This motif is based on a painting by Johann Stephan Decker from 1821 which is housed today in the collection of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, Belvedere.
