A rare Berlin KPM porcelain clock

Porcelain, coloured overglaze decoration, matt gilding and gold in relief, gilded metal mount, enamel dial, glass. Model no. 3644, fired in two parts and mounted in gilt metal with an enamel dial. Cartouche form clock decorated with acanthus, shellwork and rocailles and painted with bouquets of flowers in "weichmalerei" technique. Crowned by a figure of a winged putto blowing bubbles. 14-day running movement with spring suspension and half-hourly striking to a bell. Blue sceptre mark with I, red imperial orb mark, various impressed model numbers and S, "Fr." in gold. The wings broken and replaced, the staff and right hand of the putto restored (possibly replaced), retouches to the gilding. H with base 56 cm, without 50 cm.
Model by Wilhelm Schröder and Paul Schley, after a design by Alexander Kips, 1891, produced before 1900, movement by Aktiengesellschaft für Uhrenproduktion Lenzkirch.
