Literature

In his article "hat der König von Preußen die schleunige Verferttigung verschiedener Bestellungen ernstlich begehret" - Friedrich der Große und das Meißener Porzellan (Keramos 208 / 2010, p. 50) Wittwer mentions a "dinner service with raised flowers, tortoiseshells with Indian birds, flowers and fruit and a golden rim" ordered by Frederick II from Meissen in early 1760.
There are various archival records of the service in Dresden, Meissen and Berlin, the most interesting being Geh. StA Berlin SPK, I HA Geheimer Rat, Rep. 36, No. 1928, fol. 8r-31v, "Specifikation, derer von der Fabrique zu Meissen für Se. Mayth. den König", consisting of 79 boxes from No. 1 to 79. Box No. 1 contained the first large set of the service, which was followed by numerous subsequent deliveries.
