A Hamburg pewter jug

Elaborate vessel with a long, almost cylindrical neck issuing from a bulbous corpus. The lid with an urn forming the thumb rest, engraved with a coat of arms with a monogram to the right of it beneath the pointed spout. Marked inside the lid and twice on the base (Hintze, vol. III, no. 894). H 40.5 cm.
