A Venetian wig box

Oblong papier mâché box with a trapezoid lid and metal mountings. Decorated throughout with fragments of engravings painted over in colours, those on the inside better preserved than those outside. The exterior slightly worn and with some scratches. H 12.5, W 28, D 21.5 cm.
18th C., the engravings presumably after Martin Engelbrecht and Johannes Esaias Nilson, Augsburg.
