A magnificent Historicist bronze casket

Cast bronze box with galvanised gilding, alabaster and replaced textile upholstery over wooden core. The hinged gable lid with cornucopia appliques, the angles with sculptural putti as caryatids. Mounted à cage with eight alabaster plaques. The lockplate formed as a mascaron concealing inner lock with two bolts, an identical mascaron to the interior. H 40, W 37, D 28 cm.
