A boxwood netsuke of Kiyohime by Masahisa. 19th century

Seated next to the bell of the Dojoji temple, she has changed into a snake with a hannya's face, tearing her hair and holding a stick. Signed Masahisa (Shokyu) in ukibori. Nicks and dents and general traces of use.
