A black-ground thangka of Dorje Legpa. Tibet. 19th century

The wrathful, three-eyed protector deity, modelled by fine golden lines, wearing a broad brimmed riding hat and a long robe, mounted atop a goat with twisted horns. In his right hand a vajra. Highlighted by the smoke cloud mandorla, he is further surrounded by demonic attendants and is venerated by four lamas of the Gelug school residing in the upper register. In the back inscribed with the mantra "om - ah - hum", as well as a hand imprint.
