Signed and dated upper centre: M. Neher 1855.

Titled and additionally inscribed and dated on the reverse: St.Leonhard´s Kirche in Fankfurt am Main.

Provenance

Probably acquired in 1856 at the ‘’Bremen Grosse Gemälde-Ausstellung‘’ by Consul J. G. Hoepken. - Donated by him to the Kunsthalle Bremen in 1870. - Kunsthalle Bremen until mid-1958, then exchanged for another painting by Michael Neher - Galerie J. P. Schneider, Frankfurt. - Auktionshaus Arnold, Frankfurt 21.11.2020, lot 480. - Acquired there.
