Solution in a restitution case

Lempertz once again successfully reached an agreement in a restitution case. In the upcoming auction Decorative Arts – Furniture, lot 858 will feature a salon suite that once belonged to the Berlin publisher Rudolf Mosse (1843 - 1920) and was located in his city palace. The ensemble came into the possession of his heirs after his death and was auctioned by Lepke in Berlin in 1934 due to persecution. The set consists of a three-seater canapé and two armchairs, all covered with elaborately embroidered covers.

A three piece suite with embroidered covers Walnut and beech, gros and petit point embroidery in wool and silk over upholstery. H canapé 101.5, W 217, seat depth 68 cm, armchairs H 110.5, W 67, seat depth 57 cm. Estimate: 8000 – 10.000 €
