A Tokyo school lightly stained ivory two-part manjû of a karako. Second half 19th century

Carved in shishiai-bori with a seated karako making the bekkanko gesture and holding a Chinese-style stiff fan, on the reverse a Korean-style hat, a rock and fukujusô. The top part can be screwed into the bottom part.
