With some minor wear. 36 x 42 x 12 cm.

A Netherlandish oak relief depicting the Entombment of Christ, circa 1520. Flattened and hollowed out in the lower part, with minimal remains of a former polychromy. Presumably originally part of a carved altarpiece showing scenes from the Passion. Joseph of Arimathea can be seen to the left spreading out a cloth over the rocks on which the body of Christ has been lain.
