Wood, older polychromy, Flemish c. 1520/1530.
The soldier's lances and the fingers of the raised hand lost, some minor chips. 59 x 62 x 13 cm.

A Flemish wood relief of Christ Bearing the Cross, circa 1520/30, the reverse flattened. A silhouetted openwork relief showing Christ fallen under the cross, being harried by soldiers. Simon of Cyrene is depicted to his left helping him to carry the cross. Presumably formerly part of a carved altar.
