Two platinum belle epoque barettes

of slightly concave openwork design, millegrain set with rose diamonds and an old-cut diamond of ca. 0.20ct. Minor tin soldered repaits, later 14k white gold brooch mountings. L 5.3 cm. Total weight 17.6 g.
Ca. 1890.

Provenance

Formerly North German aristocratic ownership. According to family tradition, the slightly concave barettes were originally joined by a third to form a necklace made by Friedländer/Berlin, which was sold by Christie's in London on 16.12.1997 (lot 322).
