Very large bronze tsuba. Late 19th century

Very large bronze tsuba of square shape with indented corners displaying Daikoku in relief beating his mallet in the manner of a kotsutusumi, and a dancing rat in front of rice bales, details in mixed metals on a hammered ground, at the reverse a hanging scroll, an offering vase, a tokkuri and a sake bowl. Inscribed Genroku 2 tsuchinoto-mi (1689) toshi Inaba no Suke Terutsugu (=Yoshioka Terutsugu, 1761- after 1848). Late 19th century.
