An unusual water jar (mizusashi). Edo period

An unusual water jar (mizusashi) of globular shape, rising on a high foot with small handles in shape of double gourds, the raku-type sherd with an olive-green glaze and four seal characters to one side and gourd vine with leaves and flowers to the other. Small chips to the rim, one handle restored. A black lacquer lid, rest. Edo period.
Height 19.2 cm
