A shallow Satsuma dish. Late 19th century

A shallow Satsuma dish with a fluted rim painted in enamels and gold with numerous figures in variously shaped reserves and textile patterns at the rim. Marked at the base Dai Nihon Satsuma yaki Gyokushû (Tamahide) ga, Shimazu mon and stamped with two characters underneath the glaze. Late 19th century.
