Provenance

According to tradition, the piece was ordered by Joachim Murat for the Château de Neuilly. After Murat became King of Naples, Napoleon used the castle and contents as dowry for his sister Pauline's marriage to Camillo Borghese. After 1814 the castle was transferred to the ownership of the Bourbons. This little table descended through the Bourbon family and was kept in Italy before being consigned by them.
