A 17th century Italian cast bronze figure of a fowler.

Cast in the round, chased, with old patina.. A figure of a peasant boy in a skulking pose, holding a lantern in his left hand and a cudgel in his right. From his belt hangs a bag, a waterskin and four dead birds. Based on a model by Giambologna (1529-1608).
The end of the stick lost, with very minor wear, mounted on a marble base. Height 20 cm (without socle).
