A very fine iron vase displaying a pair of gold pheasants sitting in a maple tree and two birds in flight, all in high mixed metal relief, the neck decorated with stylized flowers and scrolls in flat gold inlay. Signed to the body Higashiyama Motonobu horu. Rust spots all over. Late 19th century.
