A large Shibayama silver and lacquer lidded vessel, the octagonal splayed foot surmounted by a melon-shaped vessel with a domed lid with an eagle as a knob, the eight panels of the body with birds and flowers of very fine mother-of-pearl, coral and stained bone on a kinji lacquer ground, the whole silver body covered with flowers and scrolls in silver wire and translucent enamel. Mark to the base Miyato Gyofu oite Mu... Akinori horu. Some damage. Late 19th century.
