A Canton wood and lacquer nest of four tables. Late 19th century

A nest of four tables, each on four thin legs, a stretcher between them and claw feet. The surfaces with black lacquer, the table tops with intricate design of figures in a landscape or garden surrounded by a border of emblems, flowers, bats and butterflies in gold and red lacquer. One strut missing. Poor condition. Late 19th century. (4)
