A tiered and lidded box (jûbako) displaying chrysanthemums by a bamboo fence underneath bamboo in takamakie, hiramakie and mother-of-pearl inlay, on a black ground sprinkled with very fine gold dust. Nashiji to the inside. Small restoration to one corner. Early 20th century. Tomobako, inscribed on the lid: Kiku take makie jû suzuri.
