Case and over-case of openwork design. Enamel dial with roman hours, arabic minutes and gilt hands. Highly fine gilt movement with verge escapement, chain and fusee. Openwork bridge with diamond end jewel. Quarter-hourly repetition to a bell on the underside. Key winding. Movement signed: "Tho. Mudge W. Dutton London". Case with London date mark for 1744. Diameter 5.3 cm.
