An incised glass snuff bottle. Qianlong period

An elegant molded glass snuff bottle with four raised ribs radiating up from the foot. The body incised with two identical panels of flowering tendrils and scrolls.
Engraved four-character mark Qianlong to the base and of the period. Coral stopper.
Height 6.5 cm

With the arrival of the Jesuits in China in the 17th century European techniques began to be used in the production of the arts, among others glassmaking, an influence which also continued in the 18th century. It could be that the decoration on this snuff bottle is by a European hand.
