A Bihar phyllite frieze from a caitya pedestal with four niches on the protruding central part with four Buddhas seated in meditation, the hands in dharmacacra and bhumisparsa mudra, in the three niches on the receding sides two standing Buddhas with hands in abhaya and varada mudra respectively, and another Buddha in meditation. The trefoil niches resting on bulbous pillars, between them flowers and scrolls, the base with a pattern of circles, the top with a zigzag band. Northeastern India, Bihar. 11th century.
