Four Scenes from the Passion

Oil on copper. Each 18.5 x 14.5 cm.

These small-format works showing Christ before Annas, Christ before Caiaphas, Christ Crowned with Thorns and the Ecce Homo scene display parallels to the corresponding motifs in Dürer's "Small Passion" made in 1509 - 1511. Three of the copper panels are marked to the reverse with a hand symbol (city mark of Antwerp), the panel-maker's mark and the date 1605. The fourth panel "Christ before Annas" bears only the panel-maker's mark.
