A large gilt and lacquered wood figure of Amida Nyorai. 18th/19th century

A large gilt and lacquered wood figure of Amida Nyorai standing on a lotus above a high and elaborately carved base, both hands in raigo-in, the robe displaying patterns drawn in fine lines, behind the figure a halo with radiating rays. Inscription inside the base reading Dai busshi hôkyo Koryû Dai... saku (made by the Buddhist sculptor Kôryû Dai...). Head and parts of the shoulder restored. 18th/19th century.
