Two silver sake ewers (chôshi). Early 20th century

Two silver sake ewers (chôshi), both with a straight body decorated in engraving with a large aoi-mon and a Hôrai motif (crane, minogame, pine and bamboo) and tachibana, a) the ewer with a straight spout and a swing handle, weight 1154 g and b) a jug with two spouts and a long handle, weight 1775 g. Early 20th century. (2)
Height a) including handle 21.5 cm; b) 14 cm and length 52,5 cm

These two chôshi belong to the san-san kudo set used in the traditional Shintô wedding ceremony, which also includes three sake cups placed on the sanbô tray. The chôshi are decorated with white folded paper and placed in the tokonoma.

Estate of Georges Audoyer (1885 - ?), French industrialist, from 1925 onward president of the French chamber of commerce in Yokohama, according to the consignor
