A maki-e lacquer container for three small kôgo. 19th century

A gold maki-e lacquer container for three small kôgo, in shape of a melon with two large leaves and a short stem; three small boxes inside, two in shape of butterflies, one of lozenge shape, all of kinji with designs in maki-e, kirikane on the leaves and a few black accents to the butterflies, nashiji to the insides. Small chip to one leaf, the bottom part with a crack and slightly warped, so that the lid no longer fits. 19th century.
