A maki-e lacquer suzuribako, the lid displaying a thatched hut in mountains with pines and blossoming cherry trees, and a shrine in a landscape with maple trees on the reverse, the trays inside decorated with snow-laden bamboo and iris in a pond. Traces of usage, the water dropper missing, chips to the edges of the lid. 19th century.
