A lacquer panel in original lacquer frame depicting a reclining shishi in silver makie with sabiji lacquer and details in gold and red on a beige-coloured ground. Red lacquer seal Tôzan. The frame rendered in sabiji and black lacquer. Paper with a short biography of the artist on the reverse. Around 1930/1950.

Kômo Tôzan (1882-1955) was born Hiroshima. He studied under Rokkaku Shinsui at the Tokyo geijutsu gakkô and was named Important Intangible Cultural Property (mukei bunkazai hôzon) in 1953.
