A South Indian copper alloy figure of Shiva Bhikshatana as a wandering mendicant, standing in so-called tribhanga on high sandals on a stepped base, his left main hand holding a bowl, his upper right hand a damaru, the other attributes no longer identifiable, around his hips a large snake, in his hair a crescent moon, a small skull and to the left ear a large patra kundala, at the right shin a bangle with a small bell. Tamil Nadu. 16th/17th century.
