A Neoclassical carved giltwood mirror

Of narrow rectangular form with pierced upper section and laurel festoons. Retouches. H 134, W 61.5 cm.
Berlin, late 18th / early 19th C., after a design by Friedrich Wichmann, 1795.

The present work is a pier glass made by the Kunst Waaren und Meubles Fabrique Friedrich Wichmann & Comp., which was illustrated in a very similar form in the April 1795 issue of the Journal für Fabrik, Manufaktur, Handlung und Mode.
