A South German cabinet on stand

Walnut, maple, ivory and ebony on oak and softwood, gilding, mirror, cast iron mountings. Box-shaped upper section with two doors and hinged lid. Interior with a mirrored niche framed by gilt barleytwist columns, the floor inlaid with ebony and ivory. Containing 15 drawers in 5 rows. The later table stand with barleytwist legs and an extendable inlaid writing surface. Some shrinkage cracks with old restorations. H 138, W 101, D 50.5 cm.
