An Italian carved wood armchair

Painted white and gilt, with a newer red damask cover, gilt metal fittings. In the French Empire taste, the armrest supports formed as Egyptian caryatids. Wear to the edges, remains of earlier insect damage. H 89, depth of seat 45.5 cm.
