A very large Imari plate. Arita. Early 8th century

A very large Imari plate painted in very dark underglaze-blue, iron-red and gold with four carps at the centre and six reserves with phoenix and kiri alternating with peonies underneath cherry blossom branches, to the reverse chrysanthemum sprigs and numerous large spur marks at the base. Arita. Around 1700.
