A Chinese school painting of the hongs of Canton with a view of the Pearl River (Huangpu) and of the American, British and Danish commercial offices and the entrance to the customs house. In the center a junk between "duck boats" and "sampan boats" and a British warship. On the shore numerous Chinese commercial boats. Inscribed to the lower center in a white reserve "Vista de Cantão". Oil on canvas, backed.

The painting follows the traditional style of depicting the Asian colonial and economic ports. With the increased world trade of the 19th century, these paintings found their way into Asian and European art collections.
