A wood table screen with lacquer and stone inlays. First half 19th century

The panel decorated to one side with carved and painted lacquer with a long-tailed bird on a plum blossom branch, flowers and bamboo, with an inscription with the name of Xiaomou Wang Su (1794-1877) and seal Xiaomuo, in the manner of Xinluo Shanren (= Hua Yan, 1682-1752), the other side with a still life with a flower vase, a bowl of fruits and an incense burner inlaid in multi-coloured stones with the inscription in bone reading Yan nian yishou (extend your years and increase your longevity). Restorations. In a wooden stand, carved in openwork. Restored.
