A small gold lacquer and Shibayama lidded globular jar decorated with two silver-lined panels with shishi dancers and peony and other flowers in multi-coloured Shibayama inlays on kinji, the lid surmounted by an ivory oni with a gourd, and a separately carved pedestal in shape of a disc carried by three onis. Inserts of silver. Late 19th century.
