A Kenzan-style kôgô. 19th century

A Kenzan-style kôgô in shape of a camellia blossom, the body covered with a cream-coloured crackled glaze, the contours rendered in blue line drawing with the characters Kenzan at the base. Glaze flaking inside and restored crack. Wooden box inscribed to the lid Kenzan kôgô tsubaki (camellia) and on the reverse Kenzan tsubaki gata kôgô soko na ari, dated cyclically mizunoe-ne (possibly 1852) and signed Ôkura Seifuku with kaô. 19th century.
