A handachi-katana. Length of the blade 69.4 cm, shinogi-zukuri, gunome-midare hamon, itame hada, rubbed and small scratches, jiare and tateware, nakago: ubu, one mekugi-ana, mei: Monju Shigekuni tsukuru kore.
Koshirae: Handachi-koshirae with iron mounts on the red lacquered saya, shakudô fuchi-kashira engraved with mon and tendrils, menuki: fruits and flowers of shakudô with gold, green binding on same, iron tsuba with dragons and tama in low relief and gold nunome, the rim lined with silver. 19th century.
