Cast iron ceremonial dagger of the Berlin Freemasons

With original sheath. Memento mori decor with two bones, a skull, an owl, and an hourglass. Unmarked. L 30.5 cm.

The Count of Kanitz, to whom this dagger formerly belonged, was a member of the Grand National Mother Lodge, "The Three Globes", which was founded in 1740 and is the oldest Grand Lodge in Germany.
