A Breslau parcel gilt silver tureen and stand

Oval body with applied laurel festoons on a waisted foot. Lion's head mascarons with carrying rings to the narrow edges, a large pinecone finial to the domed lid. Tureen and stand engraved with the coat-of-arms of the Dutch von Alten family, formerly of Gut Wilkenburg near Hannover. H 34 cm. L of stand 43.3; W 29.3 cm, total weight 3,712 g.
