A Tibetan thangka of the five great kings (mahapancaraja). 19th century

The great king Gyajin seated atop a white elephant, holding a lasso and a dagger in his hands, backed by an aureole of flames and accompanied by the other four great kings. Pehar, the most famous of the group of the five great kings, appears in the lower corners in two different forms. Gouache and gold on cloth. Some wear.
