A Canton black lacquer and wood rectangular chest, the lid decorated in fine gold painting with a New Year's lion dance, the sides decorated with boats and figures, inside a pewter tea canister without the tea caddies, the lid decorated with immortals in engraving, the knob replaced, the hinges and lock of brass, impressed PATENT, on the inside of the lid the owner's name J.J. Riechmann in gold. Early 19th century.
